June 2001 saw me make a business trip out to the West Coast of the United States. Despite my almost pathological hatred of all things Virgin, for some unknown reason I decided to fly out there on Virgin Atlantic. And I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. They really looked after me quite well.
I spent the first few days in San Jose. I had a meeting with Adobe to attend. Here's a picture of the hotel that I stayed in - it was fairly nice. The next day I went up the Valley to Mountain View, home of Netscape (once I would have called it my Mecca, but sadly not now) and another of our clients Sgi.
That evening I flew out to stay with my friend Al, his wife Liz and their new baby Bella. Alex is a film director and also film writer. He is starting to have some great success - film buffs may like to read about Alex's work in the industry as credited on the Internet Movie Database by clicking here which will open his profile in a new window.
Pictures from my long weekend in LA are here.

Later in the year I went back to stay with Al and Liz again, only this time for a couple of weeks on holiday. The story of that trip is here.
